Alpe Raaz alpine pasture hut is situated at 1736 m in the Liegfeisten range in the Lechtaler Alps near Berwang and Ehenbichl/Rieden. The very beautiful landscape and the excellent view of the surrounding peaks and valleys characterize this hiking area. The easiest and fastest way to the Alpe Raaz starts in Rinnen near Berwang and takes about 1.5 hours on foot to the alp. A few hundred meter before the Alpe Raaz you pass the Ehenbichler Alm hut, which is also a cultivated alp. There is also the possibility to hike directly from Ehenbichl or Rieden to the alp in about 2.5 to 3 hours. On this route one walks through the Rotlechtal valley and then on a forest path up to the 1736 m high alpine pasture. The Alpe Raaz hut can also be easily reached by mountain bike. For the mountaineers there are several peaks in the immediate vicinity. The best known are the Galtjoch peak, the Knittelkarspitze peak and the Steinkarspitze peak. Worth mentioning is also the Reuttener Höhenweg alpine hiking trail which lies in this area and leads over some of these peaks. In the immediate vicinity of the Alpe Raaz lies the Reuttener Hut, which is operated by the Austrian Alpine Association. This hut is open on weekends and also offers sleeping places. Depending on the weather, Alpe Raaz hut is open from the end of May to mid-October.
