from Jöchelspitze over the Karjoch to Elbigenalp

This tour started at 1800 m below the Jöchelspitze at the top station of the Lechtaler Bergbahn (Jöchelspitzbahn) From there it went along the Lechtaler Höhenweg to Lachenkopf and subsequently to the Rothornjoch between Jöchelspitze and Rothornspitze.

The further route leads along the western flank from Rothornspitze and Strahlkopf to the 2350 m high Karjoch, the temporary destination of the hiking tour. The Karjoch is bordered to the north by the 2533 m high Ramstall peak and to the south by the 2388 m high Strahlkopf. After a long rest we descended on the other side of the Karjoch into the Bernhardstal. The first part of the descent still leads through rugged terrain but ends after some time in the flower-rich alpine pastures of the Zargenalpe, in the back Bernhardstal. The path continues along a forest road over the Gibler Alm to Elbigenalp in the Lech valley. (Photos: Esther Kerber)
